Duties and Responsibilities


Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, Head Chef


  • Ensure that food hygiene and safety protocols and workplace health and safety policies and procedures are strictly followed and intervene in the case of non-compliance

  • Supervise and coordinate the team of cooks

  • Supervise the preparation and cooking of ingredients to meet our company's high standards

  • Work closely with production supervisors (main internal clients)

  • Train and assess kitchen staff 

  • Produce daily progress reports

  • Measure ingredients and use the correct amounts to prepare menu items

  • Make sure all prepared items are provided to service staff in a timely fashion



  • High school diploma (preferably)

  • French and/or English spoken and written

  • 5 years’ experience in a kitchen (food service industry), as chef, sous-chef, or solid experience as a line cook 

  • Ability to apply the concepts of quality, food safety, and workplace health and safety

  • At ease with conversions in usual units of measure in a kitchen
